From putting on a few pounds to running after the over hyped brand-o-wagon, girls can never stop to bitch about the fashion issues that run [and ruin] our lives, grate us, rate us and in the end leave us with a disdain that is less than passable..
Some can hop around in their togs and only big names speak for them. Fashion conscious, fashion cred but clueless of style. Blind following, an aversion from anything non designer, drowning huge sums of money for a pair of plastic [ but labelled] earings and owning enough tags to decorate en entire christmas tree. Now that is called being devoid of taste.
Aesthetic sense was buried long ago with the big hair days and when tight jeans were the next best thing after sliced bread. No innovation, no more genuine inspirations to express what truly outlined YOU! Fashion is almost not caring about fashion you know? It's about having mad fun defining what you are made up of, and not what you see walking on the street with big flashlights saying "I am in-follow me"..From belts to bags, tassels to scarves, stoles to jackets..all in a world of fab finds..the louder the better, the price talks volumes and the money-savvy call it fashion.
Like the drinks pour on a friday night, so do emotions over clothing. Fashion hang-ups are the new reason for worse PMS symptoms. She has it, I don't. I have it, she better not! Same dress?-bitch! Petite is in, love handles are out. Bones are brains and personalities are entangled somewhere in the threads of the paschmina's. When money can buy it, its cheap. When it can't, its flashy [read designer]..
It all boils down to - If you have attitude, you don't have much clothing. If you have much clothing, it can't be designer...
Poor designer-snoot. She may have the nicest shoes ever but she will never have what you need to wear most-reality!

i do not agree with half the things you say here.....
people have their own rights to their own fashion yes... but you are mixing this with brand labels etc. What you should be pissed off is those who just copy or follow whats there in the magazines cos some dumbass carrie bradshaw thinks 'its in' (sex and the city spoilt women... worse than cosmopolitan)
see those who think everything branded and heavily priced need to be shot down - agree
but just because there are people who wear expensives stuff doesn't mean they are slaves to fashion.. what if its really nice!! :P
at then end of the day... YES!! at the end of the day, i am not gonna complain about what you wear, how you wear it as long as you look good! and different and HOT! and most importantly, look like YOU!
That was great feedback..yes i agree..:) When I talked abt labels I did mean those who go for the tags JUST because they're famous names!..I guess it didn't come across bvery clearly in my post..darn I take that as a failure in my writing abilities hehe..
If you wear something for the reason that it is nice and you like it and you look lovely and feel lovely its fine..but most of the time I see people pulling down their skirts or pulling up their halters and looking utterly uncomfortable..but hey the Gucci tag is jutting out! lol..def agree on your point about looking like YOU....Most important thing is [at the end of the day]..dress in what suits you..
In the carry whatever you wear with an attidue. If you FEEL you look good in it you will..but don't wear it only coz it suited your neighbour..:)
love handles are never OUT!
Iyer
So this implies you don't give fashion by brands due credit.. but here's the sticky thing about fashion.. you have to be good to get to the top(just like any industry)..so gucci or burberry may have started really small but they did really good to become what they are today. And let's not forget they have a rich heritage which is what gives them an air of luxury.
Today you may patronise a small shop in a suburb and who knows, it may turn into the next big Gucci or Prada. Doesn't mean you don't have taste, does it?
Just because a shoe is 40$ and unbranded doesn't mean it is bad. BUT Just because a shoe is 400$ and blahnik doesn't mean it is in bad taste.
